When you have one or two people in the office, a pen and paper file will do the job just fine. Add a third person however, and now you have a problem. Everyone needs access to the most recent information, but you have only one file. Copies get out of sync, customer requests slip through the cracks, payroll has mistakes, and well you get the picture.
So, then we tried a cloud-based spreadsheet. At first it seemed ideal, we could share information with everyone, and it was easy to use. Then the problems started: Orders disappeared, appointment dates changed, addresses were incorrect, and the list goes on. There was simply no way to verify the information being input or to hold accountable those who were responsible.
We created Leadexception to solve these problems, interface with existing systems, and ultimately provide the tools we need for a business our size. We don’t have multiple layers of middle management and don’t expect the need for many years to come. The solution is simple: Maintain a residence database, pull dispositions from our Lead Management system, then apply those dispositions such that we never send marketing materials to a recent appointment, demo, or sale. That accomplished, create a system to track customer requests and pay our commissioned contractors easily and accurately.
